Study Program Structure
While the specific arrangements may vary, each ELTF study program includes three weeks of intensive language and cultural study.
Overseas In-Country Study Programs
Each in-country study program comprises three weeks of intensive language and cultural study, including field trips.
Language study is conducted at language training institutions with experience in delivering similar programs. This component focusses primarily on improving Awardees' proficiency in the language, not on teaching methodologies.
Field trips offer Awardees the opportunity to visit a variety of sites, make local contacts where possible and be exposed to contemporary life, as well as to immerse themselves in the language through day-to-day interactions.
Bahasa Indonesia Study Program in Darwin
The Bahasa Indonesia study program will comprise a three-week residential intensive language study and cultural program, held in Darwin, Australia.
Language study will focus on strengthening language proficiency with the opportunity to explore teaching methodology for Bahasa Indonesia programs in Australian schools. Indonesian language specialists, including native language speaking tutors from Indonesia, will be integral to the program and Awardees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the language through day-to-day interactions in a range of cultural activities.
