Study Program Overview
Information about 2011 ELTF study programs is available on the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations website. The 2010 ELTF Korea study program comprised three weeks of intensive language and cultural study, including field trip activities. Awardees departed Australia on 30 December 2009 and arrived back by 23 January 2010.
The language training component took place at Seoul National University (SNU) in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea. The program was delivered by the Korean Language Education Centre within SNU, which is highly regarded as a language and cultural training provider.
The program format was an integrated program providing the equivalent of two weeks language training and cultural activities, as well as a range of field trip activities spread over the three-week period. During the language training Awardees were accommodated in Hoam Faculty House on campus.
Field trip activities in the program provided opportunities for Awardees to develop their knowledge of Korean language and culture, particularly contemporary Korea, through participation in a range of different activities and site visits to other cities and regional locations in Korea. Awardees had the opportunity to interact with members of the local community, improve their language proficiency, and collect authentic resources.
